For the first time in HOMECorp's history, we are offering six new affordable town homes. Talbot Village began construction in November 2015 and six townhomes will be available for purchase in Summer, 2016. Located at the corner of Talbot and Dey Streets (Montclair), the units will range in price from $95,000 to $139,000, and will be wheelchair accessible.
Eligible buyers must receive HUD certified homebuyer education. The next HUD certified homebuyer seminar will be held on April 30, 2016. To register, CLICK HERE.
H.O.P.E. at HOMECorp
At HOMECorp we are committed to strengthening our clients with financial empowerment as well as providing affordable housing. H.O.P.E. (Housing, Opportunity, Preparation, Education) begins with a two-hour one-on-one session for clients. During the first session, clients complete an intake form, identify their status, and discuss desired outcomes, goals, and strategies for buying a home or renting an apartment. The two hour sessions allow our housing counselor, Victoria Lindsey, to assess client spending habits, credit and savings condition. Because of this counseling, our clients are completing their goals and moving toward financial sufficiency. Goals reached as a result of this training include increased credit scores, successful submission of mortgage applications, increased savings by 10% in a bank account, and improved rent payment history. The H.O.P.E. program is offered to residents throughout the State of New Jersey in Essex, Passaic, Hudson, Union, Middlesex, Bergen, and Morris counties. For more information about H.O.P.E., contact Victoria Lindsay at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The 8th Annual HOMECorp Housing Bowl
This was the 8th and most exciting year for our Housing Bowl. Nineteen teams of six from throughout Montclair bowled in our yearly gathering at Eagle Rock Lanes. A special thank you to our Housing Bowl Sponsors including Investors Bank, Viridian, Inc., The Montclair Rotary Club, BNI, the Montclair Inn, the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair, Morgan Stanley and the Montclair Police Department. The Housing Bowl was coordinated by HOMECorp trustee Wodline Hippolyte and generated $12,000 in donations.
20 Years of Leadership: Beverly Riddick
Our Executive Director, Beverly Riddick has been at the helm at HOMECorp for 20 years, and will now leave HOMECorp and move on in her career. Under Beverly’s leadership we have watched HOMECorp grow from a two-person office at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church to an organization with a 9-person support team, a main office, and most importantly the renovation of over 100 affordable homes throughout Montclair Township and financial empowerment for thousands of residents.
Please join us as we celebrate Beverly’s leadership and thank her for her vision for HOMECorp on April 28th at the Van Vleck House and Gardens. Tickets for the event are available by contacting HOMECorp at (973) 744-4141 or email@example.com
