pgs-svs-counselinggroup2HOMECorp provides many different housing programs and services to the community during the year including housing preservation and development, property management for rental properties based in Montclair and housing counseling services including financial literacy initiatives, landlord tenant support and resolution, housing and rental assistance referrals, emergency housing assistance recommendations and community gardening.

  1. Housing Development – HOMECorp acquires and develops substandard housing and rehabilitates it for low, moderate and middle income households.
  2. Property Management – HOMECorp manages 63 total rental units including leasing and property maintenance.

    1. First Time Homebuyer Seminars – HOMECorp offers HUD certified first time homebuyer seminars featuring a variety of topics including budgeting and credit, the mortgage application process, negotiating the contract of sale, the closing process and homeowner responsibilities. Participants receive a HUD certificate upon completion of the seminar. To register, email Victoria Lindsey or call us at 973-744-4141.
    2. Credit Counseling – HOMECorp offers seminars and counsels individuals re: credit enhancement, budgeting and savings, money and banking
    3. Foreclosure Prevention/Intervention – HOMECorp offers seminars and counsels individuals who are experiencing the impact of pending foreclosure through referral services and one-on-one counseling
    4. Savings Programs & Incentives – HOMECorp counsels individuals to join savings clubs in preparation for homeownership
    5. Landlord Tenant Counseling – HOMECorp counsels both landlords and tenants re: eviction, eviction prevention, leasing referrals, Section 8-related housing matters, rental and utility assistance
  4. Community Garden –  HOMECorp operates a community garden on Miller Street, Montclair. HOMECorp tenants, community residents and other organizations, rent individual garden plots and grow fresh produce, herbs, flowers and other plants.

Foster Fund – HOMECorp sponsors Glenfield Middle School students on their “Read Your Way” class trip.  “Read Your Way” is a book club which requires students to read and write reports on 25 books during the school year.  The sponsored students complete weekly community service hours at HOMECorp throughout the school year.
